der wahre König.....alles am einem Tag sondeln
I had a great permission lined up to detect today, but first I wanted to detect a certain field where some 3 ringer bullets have been found. The Nokta Fors Relic hits super hard and deep on low conductors, so this would be a good test for it.
When I arrived at the site another guy that goes by JimTN was already there swinging away. We talked for a minute and then went about our detecting. I didn't recover much, but I did find a lead ball bullet and a couple of cut up wheat pennies.
I got tired of detecting that field in a hurry. It's been detected to death by me and others, so I jumped in my SUV and headed out to some virgin ground to find some silver coins.
I nearly dug myself to death digging clad coins and wheat pennies before finally getting my search coil over some silver coins. The last Mercury dime that I found was deep. It only gave a hint that it was there so I knew to dig a deep plug.
When I stuck my Pro Pointer in the hole the top of it was below ground level and I had to dig a little more dirt out of the bottom of the hole to recovery the coin. It was a solid 9+ inches deep.
The Fors Relic was set up in Di3 audio tones and I had to dial back the sensitivity to 90 to help claim down the EMI some. Yeah, I'm impressed with the depth on that dime considering the circumstances. EMI kills depth.
